Our Little One

I didn’t give you the gift of life, but in my heart I know.
The love I feel is deep and real, as if it had been so.
For us to have each other is like a dream come true!
No, I didn’t give you the gift of life, life gave me the gift of you.

Snow, Snow, and more Snow

Watching 7 inches of snow fall today from the living room window! He was so excited and kept looking up at me with a huge grin so of course we grab the camera!

Watching Daddy finish shoveling the driveway. The best vantage point of course was on top of the window seat standing on the window sill!

He also added "Uh, oh", "yum", and "yuck" (he hears this quite often from Mommy and Daddy because everything goes in his mouth) to his vocabulary.

Photo Shoot

Mommy took my pictures today! Grammy (my Nana's mom) made this sweater for me so Mommy had to take my photos in it because it is so cute! Thanks Grammy!

This is Mommy's favorite photo.
It would be too typical and boring to just SIT in my chair!

Gotta love the tongue....

Maybe a future photographer? He loved the lens cap! He also has a fascination with cameras for some reason!

Also, we have one new word today... fish! We went to see Great Grandpa Z today and there was a fish tank!

Good times

We went to grandpa and grandma's today for a sledding party. I had lots of fun in the snow and then playing inside. I played a very pretty song for everyone on the piano. Today I learned that I can climb up on everything! Watch out Mommy and Daddy. I also added "Grandma"(plain as day) and "Grandpa" (pa) to my growing list of words.
Enjoy these little video clips!
This actually was not upsetting to me surprisingly enough, I just went right on sledding!

This one took place after we got home and Nana and Papa came to visit. I am learning how to jump REALLY high!

Just a bunch of flakes...

Keaton was outside the first time WHILE it was snowing yesterday. He caught on very quick to open his mouth and stick out his tongue and catch snow flakes! This is Daddy and Keaton catching flakes on the way to the BSU basketball game.
We have been to quite a few games but this one was Keaton's favorite. He hollered and shook his fists and clapped all game long! Of course we had popcorn too which just made his day!
Today Mommy and Keaton went out and enjoyed the fresh snow and his new wagon. Thank you great grandma and grandpa! He loved getting a ride.

All Smiles

I love the way the light comes in our glass door in the dining room. It makes for great photos of our little boy.
Mommy actually wanted a photo of my first little black eye but when I am smiling you don't notice it. Oh well. I fell last night and hit my head right by my eye on my truck. It is bruised above the eye so you can really see it when I look down. Not the last time this will happen unfortunately. That's what happens with boys who are VERY active!

Today has been a BIG talking day! He would say anything I asked him to. He talked to Daddy on the phone and said "Daddy" and gave the phone big kisses! He also said "door" "outside" and "shoes"!

New Discoveries and a new word

Keaton has now learned how to nod and say "yeah" or "yes". It is fun to ask him questions now and get an affirmative answer. The shaking of the head (no) answer to EVERY question was getting really old. He also has discovered that you can see your breath outside. We were wondering when we were walking out to our car why he was making faces and breathing with his mouth wide open! He then has been trying to see his breath inside the car and house only to be disappointed!

Testing 1-2-3

Mommy got a new background and had to do some test shots the other day. Of course I am her favorite subject. I don't mind because she usually gives me treats to sit still and smile!

Just me and my Dad

Mommy left me home with Daddy last night so we got to have a boys night. We had sooo much fun!
Bathtime Basketball
Nana got me and my daddy a basketball bathtub toy so we have LOTS of fun shootin' hoops.
SLAM DUNK!
Ooooooo that was a good one!
Celebrating after a good score!

Sometimes it takes so much concentration that it requires the tongue to be out!

TWO POINTS!
Uh Oh what happened to my net?!?
Self portrait of a very happy little boy with his Daddy.

These are really big shoes to fill...

As you can see, Keaton has a fascination with shoes right now!
Since he is growing up so very fast,
here are some of Keaton's favorite things to do:
(This list is kind-of long so just skip it if you aren't interested, it is more for us to remember and to update our family and his birth family than anything else)
* Hide toys under the couch. It is very exciting when he finds them a few days later while making clean-up quite interesting.
*Signs: Please, Thank-you, Excuse me, Eat, Drink, Milk, Hat, I love you, Dog, Cat, Help (kind of,we are working on that one, he keeps wanting to try to say it by talking), More, when he is hurt he pats his head and then shows you what hurts (comes from us saying Oh did you bonk your head and patting our heads) he says that he bonks his toe etc., brush teeth, wash hands, bath, sleep, pacifier, comb hair, I don't know or Where did it go, hi, bye, blowing kisses. There may be others but that is all that I can think of now.
*Knows where his eyes, ears, nose, mouth, belly button, hair and feet are.
*When you tell him to say it with his mouth he will say: Down (Doww), Dog, Daddy (sometimes comes out Deeda), Mama, Nana, Car (caa), Ball (baaaal).
*Has said the following things once or twice: Look, Eyes, Eat, Ok (K). He attempts to say everything but most often it comes out in some form of gibberish usually starting with a D.
*Loves playing outside.
*His Motor skills are really progressing, he spent a half hour putting the lid on and off of a container the other day.
*Attempts to put his shoes, hat, and clothes on by himself.
* Tries to comb his own hair and brushes his own teeth (this requires lots of shaking of the head and no movement of the hand!). He has 11 teeth now and any day the last molar will be popping through.
*Has a VERY vivid imagination already. We have been having a problem with nightmares, it took us a while to realize that is what the problem was. The past week he has been sleeping with the light on and he is finally over the hump for the time being. He was in bed with Mommy for a while a couple of mornings ago when he saw the comforter on our bed bunched up. He started pointing and saying Dog, Dog. Mommy patted it down and showed him that it wasn't a dog and decided to turn on the light to dispel any fears. Then he was leery of the Kleenex because the heater was on and it was blowing the Kleenex back and forth. It is entertaining... during the day!!
*He has to laugh when everyone else is laughing, even when he has NO clue what is funny.
* LOVES to chase and be chased. We have pretended that he scares us and we let out a little scream to prove it. So now he has to squeal when he gets scared or is really excited.
* Everyone gets hugs and kisses when ever they want we have a VERY loving little boy.
Lastly, running is the favorite mode of transportation!

Playdough!

Mommy made me some playdough yesterday to play with! I was fascinated at much to Mommy and Daddy's surprise, I didn't even try to eat it.

I liked it the best with Mommy would make it into a ball for me to play with and squish! I am signing "more" here for Mommy to make me another ball!

For an easy recipe Mommy used:
1 Cup of Flour
1/2 Cup of Salt
about a 1/2 of Water
and food coloring.
It needs kneaded and I ended up adding a bit more flour so it wasn't quite so sticky! We put it into an airtight container so we can play with it again later.

My 1st Snowman

We woke up this morning to more snow! So, Mommy took me outside! I figured out how to walk in all my gear and I played outside for over an hour. I let mommy clean up the front porch and shovel the driveway and then we built a snowman. Or rather Mommy made me a snowman and I watched!
We had to go inside and warm up for a while before we could go back out and get our snowman some eyes, nose, mouth, hat and arms!
What is this thing Mom!?!?
Keaton wasn't to sure about it but he kept trying to steal the buttons and eat the nose!

Special Friends and Special Meeting

We had company on Saturday night for Special Meeting! Landon and Lillie came to visit us... not for long enough but at least we got to see them. The kids were all fast friends again!
Miss Lillie
Fixing the car.
In the middle of running around like crazy the boys just sat down and read for a while, it is so cute to see.
Landon found my Daddy's hat and so it became the stand-in cowboy hat!

The best dressed little man and his parents after a WONDERFUL special meeting.

Water Bug

Since Keaton is walking now we decided to take him swimming at the local YMCA that we have a membership to. They have the perfect area for little kids and of course he LOVED it! Anything that has to do with water he is game for. He has started to ask all throughout the day if he can take a bath also!
He would just cruise around through each of the little fountains.

This fountain would hold up a ball which was fun. It of course didn't stay for very long as soon as Keaton noticed the ball was there.
We finally had to just take him home because he was shivering.... this didn't make a very happy boy! Mommy will have to start taking him a few times a week.
Also, we are so excited because Landon, Lillie and their Mommy are coming to stay with us tonight!!!!
