Our Little One

I didn’t give you the gift of life, but in my heart I know.
The love I feel is deep and real, as if it had been so.
For us to have each other is like a dream come true!
No, I didn’t give you the gift of life, life gave me the gift of you.

Playing Outside

Since we had a semi-nice day Mommy decided to take me to the park! I loved it of course and had to do LOTS of running.

And playing in the dirt!
I have really discovered how much fun slides can be, however Mommy really gets uptight for some reason when I just try to walk down them... she makes me sit down!

hmmmm.... can I get up this way?

Run, Run Run
Oh, there you are mom!
Mommy also showed me how to go down the slide backwards on my tummy!
I then had to climb up the biggest, steepest slide there was...
this is where it got tricky...
almost there! I made it within the last foot and a half only to slide back down and get REALLY frustrated.
After we got home Mommy made some cookies and gave me the spoon to lick off at the end. There was not ONE SPECK of chocolate left on that spoon, I made sure of that!

Our past week

Here are our photos from our little trip up north.
Keaton learned how to "smell" things.... which previously meant licking or eating them!
Just thought our bed needed one more throw pillow! He seemed to think that he was hiding and we couldn't see him!

Playing hymns for us in the morning.
Daddy and bug walking down to check out our pool.
It had water in it which seems to be the only requirement for keeping our boy happy!

We had WONDERFUL spring weather so we got to enjoy the park!
Bed-head boys.
After we got home he had a really long day and was very cranky.... until he saw his BSU hat. He wore it ALL evening and was happy as a clam as long as it was on his head!
Walking in shoes THIS big takes serious concentration.
Yes this is an entire ball in his mouth! Goofball.

Our little announcement.

Sorry it has been quite a while since our last post..... We have a VERY good reason though. We had an amazing week this last week in Billings, Montana with the birthmother and family of our little girl!!! Yes that's right; we have a little girl due May 4th! These past weeks we have been in constant contact with her and everything has really clicked. She is amazing and we feel like we have known her for years. We went with her to her doctor's appointment and heard the heartbeat and the next day saw the ultrasound. This was hands down the most amazing thing we have ever seen. The ultrasound technician was really good and just held it over our little girl. She was talking to us and then she stretched and yawned! It was so cute! She is quite the feisty little thing already kicking away! She is 2 pounds 15 oz. As adoptions go, this is the most for sure that we can be at this point. We are VERY excited as you can tell.
Here are our first little photos.
Just to help tell what things are!
Waving hello to us!
Her little profile, already sucking on her thumb!

Needless to say this house will soon be adding some pink to the decor! We will be going up two weeks early to make sure that we will be there for her birth. More photos of our trip to come.

16 Months!

Of course we just HAD to do more photos! He was in a wonderful mood so we went for it and got some really cute ones in his little blazer.

He is definitely getting the hang of this photo stuff... he posed himself in this one! He is a natural.

Mom and Dad are REALLY funny when it comes to getting me to smile for photos. This is also the face that he likes to walk around with when he is being goofy. And we wonder why he gets lots of bruises... he is always running into things because his eyes are closed!!
Oh no, how embarrasing!
Must have been quite hilarious!

Showing off

Enjoy these couple videos of our little boy showing off! Sorry the sound picks up Mommy's voice way more than Keaton's. You can hear most of the words he is saying or at least part of them. He has since added baby and cracker to his list. Car and Yeah are without a doubt the most common things spoken around our house.

This next one is his favorite thing to do besides running to get rid of some energy and make life interesting.

Keaton loves us to say "ready, set GO" and then he races as fast as he can around the house. No opponent necessary. Also, the other evening we were coming home from dinner with Grandma and Grandpa and Keaton had fallen asleep. As we pulled in the driveway he must have kind-of woke up but he chose to keep his eyes closed probably in hopes that he could continue sleeping. When we pulled in the garage we looked at him (you could tell he wasn't out) and Grandma asked him if he was pretending to sleep. This little smirk appeared behind his pacifier and he busted up laughing! He thought it was so funny that he had fooled us into thinking that he was sleeping. What a goofy boy we have. It is so fun to see his imagination developing.

1 little boy + 1 BIG pile of snow =

= 1 REALLY fun slide!
These were taken last week at the beginning of our string of days about 50 degrees! Needless to say, our pile is only about 3 foot high now so not NEAR as fun.

Snowed in

It is now becoming our little routine to go swimming on Saturday mornings! He loves it and ends up taking quite the nap in the afternoon so it is great!
Playing with Daddy in the fountains.
There is a waterfall area that Keaton discovered for the first time. He liked the feel of the water pouring down on him.
This was what we woke up to Sunday morning! 10 inches of new snow.
Daddy and his boy before meeting.
Mom and her little man.

He also started using a fork correctly on Saturday. Usually we would have to poke the food and then he would eat it. Now he is doing it pretty much all by himself, it of course depends on how easy it is to get onto the fork. He is also nodding his head now. It was really funny when he first started on Friday because he would try really hard and just as he would get the up and down motion going it would go back and forth!!
