Our Little One

I didn’t give you the gift of life, but in my heart I know.
The love I feel is deep and real, as if it had been so.
For us to have each other is like a dream come true!
No, I didn’t give you the gift of life, life gave me the gift of you.

Weekend Getaway

Last night we decided that since we wanted to watch the Boise State game anyways that we would get a little break while we were at it so we got a hotel downtown for the night. Keaton was amazed when we got there at everything new!
Look mom there is a microwave just for me!
Relaxing with my Daddy watching the game.
Oh and did Mom tell you that there was a pool just for me! I loved it! I got to swim three times while we were there. It was 6 inches deep on one side and 1 foot deep on the other side and had fountains and a little slide. I very quickly discovered that I couldn't crawl on the deep side!!! I even tried to just close my eyes and crawl REALLY fast but it didn't work. But I did discover that if I held on to Mommy or Daddy's hand I could walk everywhere. Since then I have enjoyed walking all around the house holding on to someones hand!
Throwing my ball.
This is the little slide! I loved sliding down on my tummy.

Time to give Daddy a big hug.
Peeking out from behind a waterfall!
All that swimming leaves a VERY tired little boy.
On the way to the pool this morning after breakfast.
These fountains were fun to play in. I tried to take a drink from them but it got me ALL wet. (Keaton doesn't mind putting his face in the water and quite often does it voluntarily!)
Just right for me to sit in.
I liked to play with the water on top of the slide for a little bit before pushing myself down!
Walking with Mommy.

Crashing Cars

Keaton can get on and off his car all by himself now. We have caught him a few times standing on the seat also so we are bound to have some spills in our future.
Car Crash!
Taking a time-out from wrecking havoc to "read" his books.

Goofin' Around

Keaton started standing knowingly all by himself today! He would let go and look down and then start clapping then sit down! He was proud of himself that he could do it. He is also signing eat or hungry now which is really nice. Oh and did we mention climbing is a favorite pastime...
Keaton was being so cute this afternoon and his eyes really showed up blue, which never happens, so we got some photos of course.

One Year Stats

We went to the doctor on Friday and Keaton is 30 1/4 inches long and just under 24 pounds. So he is still 90th percentile height and just under 75th percentile weight. Still a big boy even after being sick! His shots didn't seem to affect him at all this time, he is just as goofy as ever today!

Busy Days

We have had some very busy but happy days lately trying to recover from all that partying!
Nana took care of me for a while the other day and she cut up the remainder of my cake. She couldn't bring herself to chop up the head so we have a dinosaur head in a Tupperware container!
Tonight we went over and played at Damion's house. We enjoyed each others company so much! We played and played, there were no tears and Mommy and Daddy just had to finally decide we had better go. Usually Damion and I get tired and end the evening but not tonight, there was so much to do!
I found this in the bottom of Damion's toy box! I was quite proud of myself because the way Mommy and Daddy reacted it must have been really neat... I didn't understand what the big deal was... it is just another pacifier!
While Mommy was showering I thought that I would sneak into my room and unload all my pj's, onesies and whatever else was in my changing table! This is a big no-no but I knew she wasn't there to stop me! Next time Mommy needs to make sure that the door to my room is actually latched.

Tunnels and Cars

One of my favorite birthday presents was turning the car seat around to face front! All the way to meeting today I had a big grin on my face. Daddy said that I was proud as punch! I kicked my feet... it was so nice to stretch them out... and looked out the front window! I can tell how good Mommy and Daddy are driving now!
Driving is a new hobby of mine also now that I got this fun car!
Mommy and Daddy got me a whole tunnel system. It fills up the entire living room and is so much fun.
Daddy tries to follow me through it because he would love to be able to but it is just a little bit too small for him!

Thank you everyone for my fun birthday presents. We still haven't had a chance to try them all out.

Party Time

Here are some photos from the wonderful party we had yesterday! Keaton really enjoyed it, he was very tired by the end and as soon as the door shut and last people were gone, he was out for the night!

All of the sister-in-laws and Benji's mom were on the same wavelength on colors for the party.

Party decor and Uncle Derek, what more could a boy want!
It was nice enough that we were able to eat outside! Chicken nuggets were Keaton's menu of choice.
Uncle Mark was teaching Keaton how to be a Peeping Tom.... leave it to those boys to think up something fun to teach him!
Yeaaah, it is my birthday!
We let Keaton open the present that required assembly early.... turns out we should have let him open them all because he was so tired by the time we got to the rest.

Piece by piece and each little piece was just as exciting as the last no matter how big it was.

Needless to say the box full of wrapping paper was the best thing ever!
Keaton learned from the day before that the frosting was the best part....
...so that is all he ate!
Much to Daddy's dismay Uncle Derek, Uncle Mark and Uncle Ryan got Keaton a Vandal hat and jacket!!! We must admit that it is darling!
All that partying wore this little boy out. Thanks to everyone who made this party memorable!
