Our Little One

I didn’t give you the gift of life, but in my heart I know.
The love I feel is deep and real, as if it had been so.
For us to have each other is like a dream come true!
No, I didn’t give you the gift of life, life gave me the gift of you.

New Tricks

Well we have quite the little stubborn boy and he just illustrated it once again! We have been trying for the last month to teach him how to clap with no success. Mommy would help him clap and he would love it but when it came to doing it himself he wouldn't. A couple of weeks ago we put him to the test and asked him to clap and just put our hands on his hands but didn't move them and he clapped because he thought that's what we were going to make him do!! Then he didn't do it again of course, then last night, out of the blue Daddy asked him if he could clap and he looks up at him, laughs and proceeds in clapping away like he has always done it! It completely took us by surprise of course!
On a side note, we have had our first encounter with a baby with the flu... Keaton has been a trooper. He is feeling a little better he kept a cracker and some juice down finally so that is progress. This video of him clapping was done just a couple hours ago so it shows you how well he is taking being sick! We must say that he is doing way better than we would be if we were that sick.

This little trick is something that he had been doing for quite a while now but we finally have it on video!

Mischievous little boy

Mommy was busy cleaning house and doing laundry today so I entertained myself, sometimes with my toys but a lot of time with things that I am not supposed to play with!
I have just loved being in Mommy and Daddy's room lately. I discovered this nice mirror that is right at my height and it moves too! Mommy caught me talking to myself, kissing the cute little boy, waving and shaking my head "no" to the mirror!
Dutch Blitz anyone?
Looks like it is time to move the cards.
After Mommy caught me I held one card up very excited! I had to show her what I found I didn't think that she knew that they were there! I was just trying to help.

It's Fall!

We just realized that we have lots of photos of Mommy and me and no recent good ones of me and Daddy so here we are!
It is officially Fall! The leaves on the little tree outside are such a pretty red that we had to go get some photos this morning!

Mommy had to use a chair to contain me in order to have a few seconds of photo time. One year photos are going to be lots of fun.... for Mommy that is!

Pumpkins

We went to a fruit stand today that had lots of Pumpkins and so we had to take some photos of course! Please excuse the poor quality they were from Nana's camera phone because neither of us had our cameras with us.... VERY unusual!
Keaton got to "drive" the wagon with the fruit on it! He made car noises and loved it!

Wheels on the bus...

This is another new toy that Nana got for Keaton. He is definitely all boy. It is amazing that he knows how cars, or in this case buses, are supposed to go. He pushed the bus around the kitchen and dining room for at least a half an hour tonight. We kept wondering why every so often he would just get furious with the bus until we realized that it was every time that it tipped over! He would only push it when the wheels were on the ground!

New Toys!

It is about time that Mommy and Daddy realized that almost all of my toys are for babies and I am big now! Mommy went to Moppet Togs and got me some new toys to play with right now while I am waiting for my birthday.

This is another new toy in the video. When I first played with it Mommy had to help me not fall flat on my face. Now today though I have it figured out! It will help me learn how to walk and since I am doing it all by myself then it is fun! Mommy actually caught me standing in the middle of the floor shaking it back and forth not even using it for balance!!

You have to ignore the whining, by the time we thought to get it on video he was ready to stop and eat dinner! He had already walked laps around the living room at that point!

Peek-a-boo

It is amazing how much Keaton understands. We tell him to lay his head on our shoulder and he does it, we tell him to cover his eyes and he can do that too! We actually taught him how to do play peek-a-boo a while ago but he hardly keeps his hands on his eyes long enough for a photo! Usually he keeps his eyes open and peeks out.
Instead of just taking his hands off of his eyes he drags them down his face and makes funny faces such as this one! Thanks Daddy for catching this on camera finally!

Acrobatics

This ball will keep him occupied for hours... ok not quite but at least a half hour a couple times a day. He rolls it around in the dining room and creates his own obstacle course. The smaller the opening the better. He is always finding little areas to see if he will fit through, then starts hollering when he gets stuck or frustrated. The problem lies in that he has no reverse so if he gets himself half-way through he won't just back out! On a side note, he has also discovered that he can spit on the wood floor and then have a puddle to play in! Oh joys of boys! Also, we have a stack of board books for him to play with on the bookshelf. He was being quiet for a while which is never a good thing so I went out to see what he was doing only to discover that he was chewing through the board book cover!!! He has eaten his way halfway through the cover in 2 spots and was working on a third! I promise we do feed him... something tells me he is teething! From here he doesn't grab the ball and get out, he proceeds in climbing OVER the table leg.
It isn't about the easiest or the fastest way to get the ball, more like the most challenging and fun! He spent 10 minutes trying to get through this chair.
He kept running into (literally) the problem of the wood piece on the back of the chair. His eyes were under it so therefore he should be able to push his way through.
Here are a couple of video clips of examples of how he spends his time.

We will leave you with this cute picture of Keaton and Mommy.

Bathtime

Keaton is so goofy in the bathtub that I just had to get out the camera. He sticks the entire head of his rubber ducky in his mouth and crawls around playing with the other toys!

11 Months

We finally got 11 Month photos done.... and of course the only smile we get is when Keaton decides to do "touchdown"! We can't believe that we almost have a 1 year old! Keaton weighs in this month at 24 pounds and 30 inches long... still a big boy!

What are you guys doing? Do you know how silly you look trying to get me to smile?!?

Another Game

You are probably getting tired of seeing game photos but what can I say... we get some cute ones and just have to post them.
This is my kinda cranky, kinda cheesy, really trying to be cooperative look.
That's more like it!
This is a self portrait... Keaton is seriously trained to grin when he sees a camera!

We discovered that our boy LOVES popcorn. We couldn't get the bad part of the kernels off and feed him fast enough. He ate more that both of us. He had to make sure that there was nothing left at the bottom of the bucket

Got it all!

Helping Daddy

I went outside and helped Daddy water the flowers last night. Of course I found all of the puddles and any dirt that was around!
Showing off my new haircut!
I take my job helping Daddy VERY seriously...
Hey, Mom quit distracting me Daddy needs my help!
Making sure that Daddy is doing it right.

Gotta love the look of pure admiration Keaton is giving Daddy, it won't last forever so we have to enjoy it while when we get it!
All wet and dirty and perfectly happy... sounds like a recipe for a boy.
Stay tuned for 11 Month photos... we are behind on the game but the evening we had planned to do it produced a VERY cranky boy! He is teething again.... oh joy! We will try again soon and with the photos will come some stats!

Daddy night

Mommy had a Stampin' Up get-together tonight so Daddy and I went out to eat and went to the park! We had lots of fun.
Why am I sitting by these flowers?
Looks like this big boy needs another hair cut!

Seattle Trip

We went up to Seattle this last weekend to see family and go to the BSU game!
Keaton is becoming quite the little world traveler! We stopped at Wendy's on the way up and Keaton loved pressing his face up on the window!

At the game.
The stadium has a beautiful view of the water!
The things we do to keep kids happy in the car.....

Yes it made quite the mess but it kept him busy for a good half hour!
We also found that we would only stop at places that had a play area. Daddy enjoyed it too!
